Scope and Contents note

Biographical research files on Hilda Salomon, nurse and chief anesthetist at the Jewish Hospital, Philadelphia, 1924-1948, compiled by Evelyn R. Benson. The file contains Benson's correspondence and research notes as well as photocopies of source materials gathered while she was preparing an article on Salomon for Bullough and Sentz, eds., American Nursing: A Biographical Dictionary (2000), vol. 3. A copy of the published article is included in the papers.

Collection of Lillian Wald materials, 1945-2000.
Scope and Contents note

These materials related to Lillian Wald were given to Benson by Louise Schaefer. Collection consists of a script of NBC broadcast radio dramatization "The Eternal Light," 1945; Health Bulletin for Teachers, 1946; letter to Benson from Henry Street Settlement about Lillian Wald's insignia, 2000; original photograph of Wald with insignia, undated; and a "Memorandum in support of the candidacy of Lillian Wald of Henry Street for admission to the Hall of Fame for Great Americans," 1965.
