Scope and Contents

Leather-bound volume containing a treatise on geography written by an unnamed author in France. The work was probably written from approximately 1770 to 1779. The preliminary pages in the volume are brief sections written about the earth its poles, equator, meridian, and water. The book is divided into four major sections: Africa, Asia, America, and Europe. Each geographic section is described followed by descriptions of the countries, cities, and islands. There are some historical notes regarding countries and kingdoms. The pages are numbered 1 to 337. "Ferrand" is written in pencil on the first and last endpapers. Geographia is stamped in gold on the spine.
