1872-1899
Creator:
Veale, Henry Richard Lobb, 1831-1908
Extent: 0.2 linear foot (1 box)
The Veale family was British, but because of jobs in the military, spent much of their time abroad. This collection largely
concerns Henry Richard Lobb Veale (1831-1908), an army physician, and his son Sidney Veale Byland (1873-1899), a lieutenant
in the Indian Staff Corps. Material includes inventories of possessions; a sketchbook, possibly created by Bertha Veale (daughter
of Henry and sister to Sidney); and letters sent to Henry Veale from a patient, William Aitken, as well as his son, Sidney,
during his military service in India.
