Biography/History

Evidence suggests that the author of this work was Étienne-Gabriel Peignot (1767-1849), a French bibliograph.

Scope and Contents

The first item, which serves as a cover sheet for the whole, states that the work was collected and arranged by a lawyer named Job-Gilles-Blaise de la Grenouillère, but a later pencil note on the same sheet claims that it is the work of Gabriel Peignot.
