Manuscript is used for contemplation, study, and recitation and is a kind of post-Vedic philosophical treatise exploring themes about ritual and sacrifice, and exploring their metaphysical and cultural dimensions and meaning. Presents a narrative about the figure Kauṣītaki and the various rituals he performed, such as the Agnihotra.
Title derived from marginal abbreviations.
Written in 9-11 lines per leaf.
13 leaves foliated 1-13, upper left and lower right verso.
Colophon: āraṇyake navamo 'dhyāyaḥ // saṃvat 1636 // āśvinasudi dvitūyāyāṃ kuje likhitau kheti // rāma // (f. 13r).
