Iśopaniṣadvyākhyā, 1793-1797.

Manuscript is used for contemplation and study and is a Hindu philosophical commentary (vyākhyā) and treatise on the Iśopaniṣad, a late Vedic work in verse employing Hindu mantras in order to explore the meaning and nature of the highest disembodied Lord, referred to as Īśvara.

Written in 9 lines per leaf.
2 leaves foliated 1-2, upper left and lower right verso.
Colophon: śrīmanmahīdha[ra]kṛte vedadīpe manohare viramaccaramo 'dhyāyaḥ paramātmanirūpakaḥ iti vedadīpe catvārīśo 'dhyāyaḥ // śrīvāsudevāya namaḥ //
Dated saṃvat 1854 (1797) and śaka 1715 (1793) (f. 17r).
Mistakes covered over in yellow or blacked out; some corrections and additions in margins; significant syllables, words, or phrases highlighted in red throughout; vertical margins marked with double red line. Opening and closing folios have a border with red lines in which a series of Oṃ mantras are written (f. 1r, 17v).
