Manuscript is used for contemplation and study and is a Hindu philosophical treatise and commentary (vivaraṇa) on a late Vedic upaniṣad (Aitareyāraṇyaka) typically appended to the Ṛgveda, dealing with speculations about the nature of being, the self, birth, and breath; early myths; text followed by selection of Vedic mantras.

Colophon: iti goviṃdabhagavatsya pādaśiṣyaparamahaṃsaparivrājakācāryasya śrīmacchaṃkarabhagavataḥ kṛtau saṃhitopaniṣadvivaraṇaṃ samāptaṃ // śrī kṛṣṇārpaṇam astu // bādhhaṃtaḥ karaṇānāṃ me vṛttayoyāḥ svabhāvajñāḥ svabhāvajñāḥ // tāḥ sa janārdan koṇḍadeva gāḍgīl ayāṃ ce pustaka // śrīvasudeva // (f. 68r).
