Title:	Vedas. Atharvaveda. Selections. Gaṇeśatāpinī, circa 1700-1850.

Summary:	Manuscript is used for contemplation and study and is a Hindu philosophical treatise on the elephant-headed deity Gaṇeśa as the highest principle in the universe. Text aligns itself with the Atharvaveda. A second text, the Heraṃbopaniṣad, is also dedicated to and expounds on the nature of the deity Gaṇeśa. Heramba is typically a five-headed form of Gaṇeśa especially important in Tantric worship.
Notes:	Title for manuscript from colophon of predominant work (f. 10r); alternate title Gaṇeśatāpinyupaniṣad supplied by cataloger; title for component text Herambopaniṣad from incipit (f. 10r). Written in 14-16 lines per leaf. 10 leaves foliated 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, upper left and lower right verso. Colophon: iti hy atharvavede gaṇeśatāpinī samāptā // (f. 10r). Mistakes covered over in yellow or blacked out; some corrections and additions in margins.
