Cassimer Missimer (1708-1812) was the progenitor of the Missimer family in America. He operated a tanyard and was an active member of the oldest German Lutheran Church in America, the New Hanover Lutheran Church in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. The Missimer family papers, circa 1953-1977, consist of genealogical research notes and photographs.

Biography/History

Cassimer Missimer (1708-1812), an immigrant from the Alsace region of France, was the progenitor of the Missimer family in America. He operated a tanyard in New Hanover township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. For many years he was an active member of the New Hanover Lutheran Church, the oldest German Lutheran Church in America.

Scope and Contents

This collection includes a photograph album (mostly reproductions) captioned with genealogical data; a family tree; family history; card index of family members; files of document copies and research notes on individual family members; and photographs and photograph negatives.

Note that additional Missimer photograph negatives are stored in a Reed family papers folder.
