Biography/History

The Mount Pleasant Baptist Church was located at Forest Avenue and Spring Garden Street in Ambler, Pennsylvania. The church was established in 1834, making it the oldest church in Ambler. The cemetery still stands, although the church building was demolished.

Scope and Contents

The collection is comprised of minute books, administrative records, and financial and legal records.

The minutes include: minute books, 1867-1928,; trustee minutes, 1926-1977; and quarterly Congregational Meeting minutes, 1928-1954.

The administrative records include: record book, 1834; register (1928-1954); clerk's book, 1954; and notebook, 1964.

The financial and legal records include: deeds; mortgage and loan agreements, 1877-1953; wills and bequests, 1930s-1950s; and insurance papers, 1950s.
