Wilson H. Green, 1890-1989, was a fireman in Green Lane, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. The Wilson H. Green clippings scrapbooks and photographs, circa 1860-1982, contain scrapbooks created by Wilson H. Green and Green family photographs. The scrapbooks include newspaper clippings focused on local news events and society announcements, as well as some national and international items.

Biography/History

Wilson H. Green was born in 1890 in Green Lane, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania to Edward J. and Sarah (Snyder) Green. He was a fireman, chief of the Green Lane Fire Company, and Pennsylvania forest fire warden for 55 years. He and his wife Ida had two children, Willard S. Green and Glenna Gumo. Wilson Green died in 1989.

Scope and Contents

This collection includes nine clippings scrapbooks created by Wilson H. Green. The first six scrapbooks, with clippings dating from 1897 to the early 1930s, were pasted over clothing catalogs from the 1920s-1930s. There is also a box with loose newspaper clippings organized by author. The newspaper clippings focus on local news events and society announcements, but there are also some national and international items; all are arranged chronologically.

The collection also includes various unidentified family photographs, including a tintype and four cased photographs, circa 1860-1920.
