Ancil enhances the use of the Penn Libraries' resources for students and faculty in the departments of Africana Studies and Asian American Studies and in the School of Social Policy and Practice. He does this by teaching group and one-on-one sessions on the identification, selection, and use of the Libraries' electronic and print resources. Ancil maintains the Africana Resources Seminar on Van Pelt's 3rd Floor, and develops the Libraries' Africana collections. He also coordinates the Libraries' services to patrons with disabilities, and maintains the Assistive Technologies room in Van Pelt's Goldstein Undergraduate Study Center. Extending his reach beyond the Libraries, Ancil serves on the advisory boards of Penn's African American Resource Center, and the Makuu Black Cultural Center, and is chairing the advisory board of the Greenfield Intercultural Center. Ancil holds a BA in Sociology from Penn, and an MS in Library and Information Science from Drexel University.
