Find the right workshop for your needs

Our Workshop listings has a faceted search interface that allows users to filter searches by selecting, from the lists on the right (the facets), workshop specific criteria such as date, topic, presenter, location as well as by combinations of facets.

Search Strategies

Begin with the search box: Type in a search term in the Search Workshops box at the top. This is a full-text search and you may want to narrow your search based on how many workshops you retrieve.
Begin with the facets:Another way to begin is to select a facet first, which will bring up all the workshops that share that facet. For example, click on the linked phrase Within 1 Week in the Upcoming box in the right column to get workshops scheduled over the next week. Scroll down and click on a specific location to find workshops scheduled there. Each click adds another facet to your query. So if you click on the link for Lippincott Library in the Location box and the link for Within 1 Week in the Upcoming box, you will find all workshops scheduled in the Lippincott Library over the next week.
Each selected facet will be displayed at the top of the right panel under Currently Used Filters. When you add a facet, the range of choices below changes to reflect the narrowing. So, if all of today's workshops happen to be in a single location, and you select today's workshops, you will no longer see a Location box in the right panel.
To broaden your search, you can remove a selected facet by clicking the red x-dot next to it in the Currently Used Filters list at the top of the right column.

Examples of searches:

  • Try typing "introduction" or "basics" in the search box to find overview workshops.
  • Try the link Session has available seats in the Availability facet to find workshops that are open for registration right now. (Some workshops do not open for registration until shortly before the workshop date.)
  • Try the Browse link at the top right of the Full Title facet box to get a directory listing of all workshops.

RSS feeds:

Once you have a search structure that provides you with workshops of interest, you can subscribe to that list via an RSS feed. This provides you with convenient, automated updates as new workshops are added to the list.
