Photograph is in a book with a description beneath ; printed description: "(Genesis, xxxv:19.)--'And Rachel died, and was
buried in the way to Ephrath, which is Bethlehem. And Jacob set a pillar upon her grave; that is the pillar of Rachel's grave
unto this day.' This tomb is between Jerusalem and Bethlehem, near the latter place. Jews, Moslems and Christians all agree
that here Rachel was entombed. Some monument has marked this spot for 3,600 years. The present square structure is modern,
and was repaired a few years ago by Sir Moses Montifiore. The Jews meet here every Friday to pray. The building is 23 feet
on each side. The height of the wall is 20 feet; the dome is 10 feet high. This is about one mile from Bethlehem and about
five miles from Jerusalem. It is on the road from Jerusalem to Hebron and Egypt." Copyright year and photographer's name are
