Notes:
Photograph is in a book with a description beneath ; printed description: "(Deut., xxiv: 19-22.)--'When thou cuttest down thine harvest in thy field, and hast forgot a sheaf in the field, thou shalt not go again to fetch it; it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow; that the Lord thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hands.' We place to illustrate the conclusion of the 24th chapter of Deuteronomy a picture of St. Mary's Well, or the Fountain of the Virgin, in Nazareth. Through all the precepts of this 24th chapter there are to be seen intimations and suggestions of the charity and humanity and good will that Christ came into the world to teach and to express through his own life. So this picture of the Virgin's Fountain in Nazareth, where Christ grew up, is a good illustration of that spirit of humanity and good will and blessing we see emphasized in Christ." "Franklin Co Eng-Chi" is printed at the bottom right of the photograph. See 5369BAI/LVii95CAJS (Voyager # 361970)
