returned unto Jerusalem.' We are looking toward the Holy City now from the top of the Mount of Olives. Between where we stand
and Jerusalem is the valley of Jehoshaphat. To the extreme left is a cluster of minarets with a small dome. This is the tomb
of David on Mount Zion. To the north of it is Zion's Gate. Coming eastward nearer to our point of view, almost at the bottom
of the valley, you see the pillar of Absalom. The road passing it leads to Bethany. On the hillside near the Jerusalem wall
is the Moslem cemetery. To the west of the extreme right of the picture is the tower of David near the Jaffa Gate. No other
city on earth has had a history so interesting. More pilgrimages are perhaps made to it to-day than in any former period.
