Photograph is in a book with a description in French and English ; printed description: "Le premier village que l'on rencontre en allant de Jérusalem à Jaffa par la route des voitures est Liftah, dont la fontaine sort du rocher à une petite distance du village. Le rocher a été taillé et forme une grotte artificielle, d'oú l'eau s'écoule par un canal dans un réservoir placé plus près des habitations. La fontaine de Liftah est identifiée par les exégètes avec la fontaine de Neftoah, dont il est parlé dans le livre de Josué. C'était un des points de repère de la limite qui séparait la tribu de Benjamin de la tribu de Juda." Initials "B+P SC" are printed at the lower right corner of the photograph
