Photograph is in a book with a description beneath ; printed description: "(John, ix: 7.)--Siloam is mentioned but three times in the Scriptures. Isaiah, viii: 6,7, refers to the waters of Siloam, which 'go softly,' in contrast with the sweeping current of the Eurphrates. In Nehemiah, third chapter and fifteenth verse, allusion is made to Siloam, where it speaks of the rebuilding of the gate of the fountains by the hands of Shallum. And in the third place we have the reference to Siloam in John, ix :7, where our Lord tells the man born blind to 'go wash in the Pool of Siloam,' etc. Luke mentions a tower of Siloam, which by its fall occasioned the death of eighteen men, This tower stood by the Pool of Siloam. Jerome says the Spring of Siloam lies at the base of Mt. Zion. Josephus alludes to Siloam. Its sweet water flows to-day just as in ancient times."
